USING STRATEGIES AS A BEST WAY TO TEACH.

Do Professors know that strategies are important to teach? Nowadays the students are not interested to learn this language because they think that it is difficult to understand, but if professors use the correct strategies to teach it, they will catch students’ attention and make it easy for them. According to Barncs Ochoa (2007) English is a complex system of meaningful sounds organised with series of rules (grammar). Every student has enough pronunciation, grammar and sentences structure to understand this; it is also true that language is a form of behaviour involving the human need to communicate and to understand. Language learning involves motivation, emotions a sense of self, and a set of cultural beliefs. Language is much more than sound and words and grammar. That is why the strategies that you use to teach English are so important in order to make easier the learning, with respect to this there are several and different teaching strategies, three of the most important are: Discussions, multiple choices, repetitions strategy.

In the first part Discussions might give professors interesting classes, according to http://teacher2b.com/strategies/discuss.htm students have to read the material in order to have meaningful class discussions. Some students become adept at listening to other students’ comments and making a general comment sound relevant to the subject being discussed without them. For that reason this strategy is so helpful to the students because they give opinions to others and share all their knowledge to make a big idea of one subject and also the students to improve their vocabulary, pronunciation, memory, etc. Professors can also use this strategy to evaluate.

In the second part multiple choices according to http://teacher2b.com/strategies/teachstr.htm “Multiple choices, true-false exercises can be easily constructed by having the students participate in their creation. Explain to the students that they will be using their notes to make up 5 multiple choice and 3 true-false questions for a test. Teachers also can take the questions that students did and compile them into a test that show them the students’ level of learning; they can give them stylistic variety, and saves the teacher time and work. Sometimes the students' jokes in the questions “lighten up" a test., constructing these questions the students develop their creativity and imaginations making this strategy interesting.

In the third part repetition strategy is used to learn pronunciation. It consists on make sentences and repeat that sentences, professors have to be the guide. It can help the students to improve their English. Professors also think that one of the most difficult homework is to learn to pronounce because the mouth’s forms are different, repeating what they say it can adapt and make the correct pronunciation. If professors use this strategy as an evaluation, they can have better results because sometimes students lost their motivation to learn.

In conclusion strategies should give professors the tools that they need to teach English. Sometimes is important to know that English is more than words, is a way to motivate, improve, and create different ways to learn because they know as professors that the students have different ways to think and also the age represents an obstacle to learn because strategies are more often created to help young people and when the students are the adult people and also the third age the strategies have to change. As Barncs said the complex system of English represent a problem with the grammar, pronunciation, etc. And is necessary that professors help their students motivate their knowledge. Using strategies professors can have variety to teach, to evaluate and also to their own learning.
